The 29th Annual NC Quilt Symposium, "Bee In the Mountains" was a most picture perfect place to be in May 2007. It was a great success! Western North Carolina Quilt Guild hosted in Mars Hill, NC, at Mars Hill College, with a reported 25% guild participation in NC Symposium 2007.

There were twenty fabulous teachers, offering classes and lectures. The Opening Ceremony concluded with a teacher exhibit in the lecture hall foyer, and a chance to purchase books and meet the teachers.
The Quilt Show was held in the school gym, with 112 entries, including three wearable entries.
There were seventeen vendors.

Viewer's Choice: Hearts In Bloom, Francis Yoder - $50.00. Three hundred thirty three votes were cast, eighty-six for the winner. Sixty-six entries received votes.

We expect a magnificent quilt show, a fine assortment of merchants and entertaining evening events. The most important part of the event will be you!

The Spring NCQSI Board meeting was held in Burlington, NC in March 2007. New Board members were welcomed for their first three-year term: Marty Dail from Washington, NC, Terri Townsend from Hickory, NC, Danielle Barr of Charlotte and Cindy Ward of Elizabeth City.
We are delighted to have contracts with hosts for future Symposia: Capitol Quilters, Raleigh, NC will host Symposium 2009; and Charlotte Quilters Guild will host in 2010.
The Board will hold is annual fall meeting in early October, 2007, in Burlington, NC.
